FAQs
What is Hypnotherapy . . . and what isn’t it?
1
Hypnotherapy is a gentle, collaborative approach that uses deep relaxation and focused attention to help explore patterns of thought, feeling, and behaviour.
Despite common myths, hypnotherapy is not mind control and you do not lose consciousness. You remain aware and in control throughout the session, and can speak, move, or stop at any time.
Many people experience the hypnotic state as similar to being absorbed in a book or daydream — calm, focused, and receptive. This state can support reflection, insight, and positive change in a way that feels natural and respectful.
What happens in a hypnotherapy session?
2
A hypnotherapy session begins with a conversation about what has brought you in and what you would like support with. There is no pressure to have everything clearly defined, and the session moves at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
You will then be guided into a state of deep relaxation and focused attention. This is a natural state where the mind becomes quieter, while you remain aware and in control throughout.
During this time, we work together to explore patterns, responses, or habits that may no longer be serving you. Each hypnotherapy session is tailored to you and approached with care and respect.
The session ends gently, with time to reorient and reflect, so you leave feeling grounded and supported.
How do I get started?

If you are curious about hypnotherapy or simply wondering whether it could help, the first step is just to get in touch. You do not need to know exactly what you want to work on. It is enough to have a sense that something feels ready to change.
You can reach out using the Contact page or the “Let’s Talk” section on the home page, and we can take things from there at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
